Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph 7149 Monte Carlo Grey Dial
The second series in grey…
Tudor’s second series of chronographs were given the nickname Monte Carlos by collectors due to the dial layout that had a striking resemblance to the gaming tables seen in the casinos of Monaco’s famous gaming center.
This stunning chrono features a grey and orange dial in really superb condition.
The orange has stayed striking and vibrant and there is no spotting on the grey areas as can often be seen on these watches.
The lume on the hour markers has at some point had small dots added in tritium, but these are only subtly noticeable under a loupe.
The later black tachymeter bezel, that was added at service we assume, has faded to a blue colour and remains in good condition. The case, including lugs and crown guards, is good and thick all round. The solid link Oyster bracelet, with 580 endlinks and a clasp stamped ‘VD’, is in great condition with minimal stretch. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
