Double-signed dials are always highly sought after by collectors and we have a real beauty for you guys today. This is a very special Day-Date that features the "Serpico & Lainoâ signature on the dial . Serpico y Laino was an important Rolex retailer in Caracas, Venezuela :
Vicente Laino was a Italian born goldsmith who emigrated to Venezuela as many Italians did at that time looking for a better future , at arrival in Caracas he met his countryman Leopold Serpico.
Together they started a jewellry & watch shop in the countries Capital at some point they got to be a famous shop; allowed to order Rolexes and Patek Philippe watches with their Retailers name on the dial , only a few were allowed..Serpico Y Laino retailed watches are now highly collectable as for example Asprey of London , Tiffany New York and Swiss firm BeyerâŠ

This important vintage Day-Date has a lovely rare double dash( there is a hyphen between day and date as well between oyster and perpetual - a rarely seen feature !).
This on a soleil-finish silver pie pan dial with applied yellow gold stick hour markers with a nod and nice patina on the lume dots. The dial is signed Serpico Y Laino on the upper half of the dial. The watch retains a nice case with and there is good definition on the fluted yellow gold bezel. The case back has the correct import stamps. The watch will come on the pictured leather strap and the slow-set automatic movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
